November Recap 🍁
"December already?!" - everybody ever, every December.
🎨 MFA Updates:
Still going strong with my MFA. The fall semester is wrapping up in a couple of weeks and I should definitely be working on my final projects but I could make a convincing argument that a blog post is a form of art! Really though, I've been busy making a lot of art. One of my final projects is going to be something shareable. Sharable meaning I could send it to your mailbox if you want. Stay tuned. For now, here's a sketchbook page that I like the looks of. It's a line from a poem I wrote this semester:

And a print I carved in honor of November's full moon:

👯 Mural Shenanigans:
Did I mention in the October recap that Heather and I (aka Fight the Beige) finished our BIGGEST mural yet? I'll probably write about that whole process later, but here's how it turned out:

We are booking now for murals in 2022. Know of a wall that needs some sprucing up? Contact us at fightthebeige@gmail.com with inquiries, ideas, or questions. Will travel for walls!
👀 Crushing On: Bread and Puppet Press. Specifically their CHEAP ART MANIFESTO. I love prints, posters, anything with words, and of course a good manifesto.

GO AHEAD AND READ IT AGAIN! HURRAH!
🎵 On Repeat: I mean, other than Taylor Swift's 10-minute version of All Too Well...
Frank Sinatra x Rod McKuen (thanks for the introduction to McKuen, mom!)
But it's hard to pick just one so if Sinatra isn't your speed, here's a recent song worth considering:
👂🏼 Also In My Ears:
Poetry Unbound, a podcast hosted by Pádraig Ó Tuama, who I appreciate for his thoughtfulness and his calming voice. It's a perfect bite-sized podcast for the drive into town.
🔜 Looking Forward To...
December's First Friday in Wenatchee is going to be mighty good. At Collapse Gallery, I have six pieces in the group coaster show alongside a ton of other amazing artists. There are a limited number of my handprinted SALADS > GUNS tees for sale there too. Over on WVC's campus, a friend's project, Yellow House opens Dec. 3rd. Yellow House is a sculpture, a series of art films, and a performance piece all in one. I get to help install it. I'm very excited.
If you have a local art walk, make sure to check it out this month. Especially if you're in the market for gifts. Support artists and shop small!
✨ Grateful For...
The ocean. I spent Thanksgiving on the Oregon coast and it gave me big Monk by the Sea vibes.

🤡 Laughing At...
I teach Renaissance Art History in the Spring quarter at WVC. In preparation for that class, I am getting a kick out of this collection of ugly Renaissance babies in art.
